This is the #SuccessStory of Imran, a 6-year-old ‘Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Survivor’. He was diagnosed with a rare Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) known as Tetralogy Of Fallot (TOF), which can be fatal if left untreated. The name refers to 4 heart problems which occur simultaneously, decreasing the amount of oxygen in the bloodstream.
In the search for Imran’s treatment, his family eventually found their way to Dr. Mohammad Asim Khan, a renowned Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon based in Lahore, Pakistan. He informed them that TOF is treated through a relatively expensive procedure called a Total Correction, one that Imran’s family found unaffordable.
His father works as a labourer in Dubai and supports his entire family, which includes his wife and 4 children, all by himself. The rest of the family members live in Pakistan, and when Imran’s condition started worsening, it was a tremendously distressing time for them, compounded by the fact that all of them were not together.
The family was in desperate need of financial support and were looking for a ray of hope. Fortunately for little Imran, Dr. Asim referred his family to us, one of the premier organizations providing world-class healthcare facilities to deserving and needful children suffering from CHD in Pakistan.
Once Imran’s family came to us, we tried to ensure that everything from that point onwards was as unhindered as possible. Our patient registrations process is extremely quick, and thanks to our phenomenal donor base, the required funds for the surgery were swiftly arranged as well.
With all other hospital and accommodation related formalities for Imran and his family also taken care of, the surgery was finally scheduled with a brilliant team of healthcare professionals on board. During an immensely difficult time, Imran’s family was constantly praying for him and the surgery to go well.
Following an intricate heart procedure that required remarkable skill and focus, the team was thrilled to inform Imran’s family that his surgery had turned out to be a resounding success! Imran had defeated CHD, and with a second chance at life, a promising future was awaiting him.
Imran’s family was delighted to have the light of their lives back, shining brighter than ever. They were also thrilled about the fact that Imran could now live like all other normal children. The whole family expressed eternal gratitude to us for being so helpful throughout the entire process, and wished us the very best for all our projects.
1 in 100 children are born with CHD, the world’s most common birth defect.
