This is the #SuccessStory of Hussain, a 3-year-old #CHDSurvivor. He was diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) called Tetralogy Of Fallot (TOF). The name refers to 4 heart problems which occur simultaneously, decreasing the amount of oxygen in the bloodstream. It can be fatal if left untreated.
The news of Hussain’s potentially fatal heart disease left his family in a state of shock. To make matters even worse, they encountered multiple hurdles in the search for his treatment, which was unavailable in their hometown.
Eventually, after extensively pursuing their options, they came to Dr. Mohammad Asim Khan, a renowned Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon based in Lahore, Pakistan. He informed them that TOF is treated through a relatively expensive procedure called a Total Correction, one that they found unaffordable.
His father works as a labourer in a northern part of Pakistan and supports his entire family, which includes his wife and 4 children, all by himself. With limited resources at his disposal, it was a tremendously distressing time for him.
Luckily for the whole family though, Dr. Asim referred them to us for financial support. We are among the premier organizations providing world-class healthcare facilities to deserving and needful children suffering from CHD in Pakistan.
Hussain’s family came to us and hoped that we would restore all their lives back to normal. That is exactly what we intended to do. Our patient registration process was extremely quick, and thanks to our phenomenal donor base, the required funds for the surgery were swiftly arranged as well.
With all other hospital and accommodation related formalities also taken care of, the surgery was scheduled with a brilliant team of healthcare professionals on board. With tremendously complex treatment to follow, Hussain’s family was constantly praying for his well-being.
After exceptional work by our team during a procedure which lasted a few hours, we were delighted to inform Hussain’s family that his surgery was a massive success! With the support of our incredible donors, little Hussain had defeated CHD and his precious life was saved.
Hussain’s family was thrilled beyond measure and could not contain their happiness. They felt eternally grateful to us and were immensely satisfied with what they experienced. As Hussain was being discharged, the whole family wished us continued success in turning dreams of CHD affected families into reality.
1 in 100 children are born with CHD, the world’s most common birth defect.
