Salman’s Success Story!
At just 4 years old, Salman had to face and overcome the unprecedented challenge of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Salman was diagnosed with ASD – Atrial Septal Defect. ASD is a congenital heart defect in which there is a hole in the septum (wall) that divides the atria (upper chambers) of the heart. This hole may close on its own, but if it doesn’t, surgery is required. Symptoms include breathing difficulties, respiratory infections, skipped heartbeats etc.
Salman’s father is a labourer, who despite a low income, manages to take care of his entire family, which includes his wife and 3 sons. However, the planned treatment for Salman, ASD Closure, is an expensive procedure that needed to be fully financed. That is where we stepped in.
Thankfully, after making all the required arrangements, Salman’s surgery turned out to be a resounding success. We fixed his heart for life, and his family, instead of constantly worrying about him, can now live a life filled with love, laughter and special moments together.
