Hira’s Success Story!
Life can throw a lot of surprises your way. That’s precisely what young Hira and her family had to deal with right in the prime of her adolescence. A challenge like no other, especially for a 14-year-old child diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) known as Dilated Left Ventricle (DLV).
In DLV, the ventricle stretches and thins (dilates). This results in the heart not being able to pump blood as well as a healthy heart can. Gradually, this may be detrimental for both ventricles, and hence the whole heart.
The planned treatment for Hira was the placement of a Cystoperitoneal (CP) Shunt. This flexible tube decreases volume load on the single ventricle and improves oxygen saturation. However, it is an expensive procedure that Hira’s family was having difficulty arranging funds for. Her father, who supports his whole family by himself, which includes his wife and 4 children, was left in a precarious situation.
That is the point where usually we step in to help families in need. With our immense experience facing such cases, thankfully, with the extensive support and prayers of our team and phenomenal donors, we were able to make all the required arrangements for Hira’s heart surgery.
Blessedly, the surgery was a resounding success! A dream of a family was turned into a blissful reality. With your support, we wish to continue helping deserving and needful children suffering from CHD.
