Zainab’s Success Story!
Imagine how tremendously difficult it would be to fight a disease right after being born. Well, that’s exactly what little Zainab had to do. Remarkably though, with a bit of help from us, she overcame this immense challenge with phenomenal courage, showing inspirational and unmatched resilience.
Zainab was diagnosed with Pulmonary Valve Stenosis (PS) after just 22 days in this world. PS is a common Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). However, in most children the cause is unknown. In PS, the heart is made to work harder to pump blood into the lung arteries, causing damage to an overworked muscle.
The recommended treatment for PS is Aortic Valve Repair, a relatively expensive procedure that Zainab’s parents could not afford solely by themselves. Her father is a labourer and mother a housewife. Zainab also has a brother and two sisters. With limited resources at their disposal, the family needed us to step in and help them.
Thankfully, with our vast experience facilitating CHD affected families, we were able to provide Zainab’s family with everything required for her treatment. From funds, to doctor appointments, to the actual surgery, which was blessedly a massive success!
