Amina, a remarkably resilient child, was diagnosed with a rare Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) known as TOF (Tetralogy Of Fallot). TOF is a heart defect that can be fatal if left untreated.  The name refers to 4 heart problems which occur at once, decreasing the amount of oxygen in the bloodstream. Symptoms include bluish skin colour, clubbed fingers, problems with eating, developmental delays etc.

CHDs such as TOF can be caused by a combination of different factors, such as genes or things the mother comes in contact with, including what she eats and drinks. TOF may be diagnosed during pregnancy or shortly after birth.

2-year-old Amina’s father, a labourer who supports his whole family, which includes his wife and 2 children, all by himself, brought her to us after numerous trials and tribulations.  With a dearth of resources at his disposal, he desperately needed support to make arrangements for his daughter’s planned treatment, a Total Correction.

Thankfully, that’s where our phenomenal team stepped in. Having years of experience addressing similar cases, all the necessary preparations were smoothly and diligently taken care of.

Blessedly, Amina’s heart surgery was a resounding success and she defeated a life-threatening heart disease. Her family, especially her heroic father, can now decompress knowing that their dream of living a life filled with happiness is now a reality.
